Santa

Hi Ya'll! Thought I would share this card that I made for a card swap last week. I stamped Santa and matted him on the red card stock ,stamped my sentiment on some kraft, added a button and a bow and called it done! These went together pretty fast once I got all my pieces cut and stamped. I used pre-made cards that I bought on clearance, I don't know when! Thanks for looking!

Christmas Matchbook Mini Album

Hello! I know I promised I wouldn't take so long to post, so I thought I would show you what I've been doing. This mini album is one of the creations of Kathy at paperphenomenon.blogspot.com. It is made in the matchbook style, and stays closed with the belly band around it. The album, the pockets, the belly band , and the tags are all handmade! She really amazes me sometimes with the designs she comes up with. This one was very simple to make, and could be used for photos or a recipe album( which I thought about doing next). Go check out her website and check out the "ning" site too. You will be truly amazed! The deminsions of the pockets are 6x6. The whole album is about 6 1/4 x 8 1/2.

Autumn

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in awhile! Household duties called, and I didn't feel well for a while( you know the drill). This is a card that I made before I got sick and had to tend to other matters. I was playing around one day and found the leaves in my stash and came up with this card. The mat is some of my handmade paper which I tore to give it an earthy feel. The burlap I bought at Hobby Lobby. I put them all together and added a Crinkle Ribbon bow and stamped the sentiment. Thanks for peeking, and I promise I won't take so long to post next time! I wish everyone a safe and Happy Thankgiving!

Thankful

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween, and have not gained too many pounds from all the candy! Time to relax now and concentrate on this beautiful Fall weather we are having here in Alabama! I know some of you have experienced a freakish and early snowfall, and I hope you are all well and warm. This card was inspired by a stamp set that I purchased from Close To My Heart called Remarkable Wreath. It has different seasons in it so you will probally be seeing it again. I already have an idea for Christmas! Anyway, I decided to hang it on the door this time. I stamped the twigs and then the leaves, and tried to give it a watercolor feel. Then I fussy cut it and, popped it and hung it. Added a bow and shimmered up the windows with some perfect pearls. You can't see the pearls very well. For some reason they just don't photograph well. I left the inside of the card blank so that I could add a sentiment at a later time. Thank you all so much for your comments on my cards! I look foward to hearing from you always! Thanks for looking!

My Pretties

Hey Ya'll! I just finished this last Halloween card and I thought I would go ahead and share with you. As you know, every "good" witch has her pretties, her "needfuls", things she just couldn't live without! No exception here inside the witch's house! Pretty basic stuff. I did alot of inking on the purple goop in the kettle and on the broom. Added some glitter glue to give it just a touch of bling, and google eyes to the cat and frog. Don't you just love the frog's eyes! I guess it's a girl frog, and the cat is male. Of course "Jack" is just crazy! Added some of those cute little spiders and called it done. Thanks for peeking!

I glitter glued the spiders and the web border. Added some glitter to the web strands on the paper, and finished it off with some alphabet stickers. It was really quick, but a fun card to make. Batty

Hi everyone! Today I made this card that has been sitting on my table for a week! All I had to do was put it together and was too lazy to get up and do it,but I made myself finish it this morning. I'm so glad I did, because it turned out better than I invisioned it... a year ago! The grass is torn Mulberry paper that I bought at the Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. Of course I didn't have the Holiday Cakes cart then, and I love this "spooky" house! I added some bling to the roof line, cut the small fence off the side and added a larger one, some cute little pumpkins, and I think the occupants are ready for Trick or Treaters if they

don't mind the bats! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Primative Halloween

Hi Ya'll! Another catalog inspired card, this one more primative. I had forgotton about this ghost on PDDU until I saw Kimberly at My Craft Spot do a card with it this week. It's so cute, he reminds me of Casper the friendly ghost! I did some inking and popping and added ribbon and a button for the cats bow tie. The top looked bare so I added the brad to a piece of chipboard, glued it to a piece of cardstock and Walla! The bakers twine at the top was also a last minute decision. Hope you like, and thanks for looking! I will be entering this in two challenges at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/ and at http://thekraftjournal.blogspot.com/

I know it's been done and done, but I couldn't resist, so here's my version. I did alot of inking on the whole thing, used raffia for the broom and sprayed the entire card with glimmer although you can't see it very well. I think it turned out pretty cute. Thanks for peeking!

Harvest

Hey everyone! Don't you just love Fall! It's my favorite season and I had to pay tribute to the Harvest part of it since Halloween gets all the attention this time of year. This card was inspired by a picture I saw in a catalog! Isn't it funny where we get our inspiration! I used several carts for this card, and spent around an hour just picking out the papers. I did some inking and chalked all of the pumkins with pastel chalks. Added some glimmer spray to the front, and matted the inside with the polka dot paper that is on the front.I am entering this in the Fantabulous cricut Challenge #80, Pumpkins. Husbands Birthday

Good morning! I made this card for my Husband's birthday which is on Halloween. I swap off every year between a Fall theme and a spooky theme. This worm from the Mini Monsters cart just cracks me up, and is one of the reasons I bought the cart in the first place. He has such a shocked look on his face that I thought it would make a cute birthday card. The sign was punched with the M.S. punch Drippy Goo and the spiders were punch with a Studio G punch that I bought at Walmart for a dollar. The inside was done the same way, stamped, and I hand drew the web.Of course I couldn't let this one go by without entering it in a challenge at

Hey Ya'll! Just a quick post to share this card which was inspired by a stamp that I saw in Joanns last week. The turkey was cut from Simply Charmed, and the grass is a M.S. punch. Added some buttons and some bakers twine and google eyes, and there you have it! I'm off to Hobby Lobby to look at their new papers! Thanks for peeking!

Autumn leaves

Hello again! Two posts in one day, whew, I'm on a roll! This card was inspired by my absolutely favorite season of the year! I love Fall! I wish for it to hurry and get here every year, and here in the South it usually arrives in late October or early November. This year it seems to have come early(here's hoping) because we have had our temps in the 80's for a couple of weeks now. Anyway, I love just the feel in the air, the crunch of leaves under my feet, etc. The tree was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up, and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch that I cut the individual leaves from. The frame is a Cuttlebug die called Pearl Frame, and the sentiment was hand printed on the outside and computer generated on the inside. I added a twine and raffia bow and sprayed it with glimmer. This card will be entered in the Monday Challenge #26 at My Craft Spot. Thanks for peeking!

Bee-lated Birthday

Hi everyone! I made this card for my Aunt for her birthday, which I forgot. Both of my parents, my son, and my Grandson's birthdays are all in the same month, including my Aunt's, and her's kind of slipped through the cracks! I used the cute little Sizzix bee, and added vellum for his wings, and a glitter brad for his nose. I embossed the mat with a cuttlebug folder called Gratitude, and used a Martha Stewart punch for the border. Added a twill ribbon bow, stamped the sentiment, and put a flower in the corner. The inside says: "I be sorry I missed your Birthday." I am entering this in the Birthday Sundaes Challenge #27. You can check them out at http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com

Toothpick Flags

Hello everyone! It seems like I have been away forever! I guess I just needed a little break. Over at the Create Blog the challenge for this week is to incorporate toothpick flags onto a card or project. I had never made these, so I thought I would give it a try. I cut my flags from Birthday Bash, as well as the inside sentiment which says "It's Your Day!" I rolled them onto the toothpicks with a little bit of glue, then added the mini bubble letters to the center. I ruffled up some crepe paper ribbon, and added it behind the satin ribbon. The rosette is a Tim Holtz die mounted on a circle that I fussy cut, and the brad is one I had in my stash. Pretty simple, but it turned out cute I think. Thanks for peeking!

Sew Sweet

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to show you that I made for the Craft Spot Monday Challenge #21. You are supposed to have stitching , either real or faux, on you card. I used my new Tim Holtz die called Sewing Room and cut out the dress form, spools, and button. I added canvas to the body of the dress form, and Glossy Accents to the stand. I hung a scissors charm around the neck, added thread to the spools, and topped it off with a "Crinkle Ribbon" bow which you can find at My Craft Spot. The sentiment was done with my Design Runner. The inside of the card simply says "Thank You". Thanks for looking!

Snack Time!

Hello everyone! I just finished this to enter into the My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #21, Gift bags and Boxes. I know, I'm a little slow to start

since we've had two weeks, but I just couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to do. Any way, I decided to do something for Back To School. All the cuts were made from Campin' Critters, except for the pocket that I added to the back of the back pack. I did a lil' inkin' and stitchin' with my gell pen, and sanded the body of the back pack to make it look more like denim. This was fun to make and I wanted to put a little memo book in also, but it wouldn't fit! Head on over to My Craft Spot and join in on the blog hop! Flower Pot Birthday

Good Mourning! My Mother loves to garden, but physically can no longer do as much as she used to, so I made this Birthday card for her to remind her of how beautiful her flowers will always be in my mind! I started with the flower pot and embossed it with the cuttlebug. The large flowers were cut from Walk in My Garden and Home Decor and the color combo are her favorite colors. The leaves were done with a MS punch and the small vine flower was cut from Home Accents. I added some Memory Tread, a sheer ribbon, and the sentiment at the bottom. The inside sentiment was computer generated. I am entering this in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #74. You can check out their blog by clicking on the button on the right hand side of my blog. I hope everyone has as beautiful a day as I am having here in the south, and thanks for looking!

Milk and cookies

Hi everyone! Over at the Paper Cutz challenge blog the challenge for this week is Down on the Farm, so I thought I would enter this card that I did and never shared. This was the very first card I did with my Gypsy that my wonderful Husband gave me for Christmas! I used: From My Kitchen-cow milk jug and cookie plate, Just Because Cards-chick, Wild Card-outside sentiment( welded with the Gypsy), and Everday Paper Dolls-grass. I embossed the background with the Divine Swirls folder, added a sunflower sticker from my stash with a button for the center, and another button for the sun after I stamped the rays and doodled them with my gell pen. The inside sentiment was done with my Design Runner. Lots of inkin' and poppin'! Hope you like, and thanks for looking!

Birthday Wishes

Here we go again! I had so much fun making the last border punched card, I decided to do another one! This time I placed the borders right side up and made a girlie card with all the bright pinks and turquiose colors, added a lime green vintage seam binding bow with a button on top, and some glittered ric rak on the top. The sentiment was stamped , and I used an EK sucess punch this time. I will enter this one in the Birthday Sundaes challenge #21, Anything goes birthday card. Check out their blog by clicking on the button on the right hand side of my blog! Thanks for looking , and for all your wonderful comments I have received. I really enjoy reading them, and checking out your blogs as well!

Giggles

Hi Ya'll! I made this card for the My Craft Spot Challenge #20, which was to use "hot , bright colors". Well, I hope you've got your sunglasses on!! I was searching for papers and found this striped piece of paper by daisyd's, and decided to use some of the colors for my scalloped borders punched with a new M.S. punch I found at Michaels. The card was originally supposed to have the scallops facing down. I accidentally knocked the thing off the table , and it landed upside down. When I picked it up, light bulbs went off in my head and I saw pockets, which changed the whole card idea in a flash! Soooo, to make a long story short,(I know I'm rambling on), I punched out some scalloped circles and stamped them to put in the pockets, stamped the sentiments, added a felt flower and a ribbon, and called it done! You can check out My Craft Spot by clicking on the button on the right. Thanks for peeking!

Summer Blessings

Hello everyone! I trust that everyone has survived the heat wave,LOL? It has actually cooled down here for awhile. Fantabulous Cricut's challenge #72 this week is to "Get Buggy", so I started thinking about summer and bugs and decided to do the fireflys from the Stretch Your Imagination cart but I didn't like the jar. So guess what? The jar was cut from Kates ABC's, and then I decided it needed something else so I cut the snail from Walk in My Garden. Didn't like the lid on the jar so I cut it off and stamped one to put in it's place. Do you ever get to where you just CAN'T MAKE UP YOUR MIND! Any way the outside sentiment was done on my Design Runner and the grass was cut with a M.S. punch. The inside sentiment was computer generated. Hope you like! It just reminds me of my childhood days, and what we did to keep ourselves occupied on hot summer nights! Thanks for looking!
This card will be entered in the Fantabulous Cricut challenge #72( use the button on the right hand side of my blog).

Curtis' Birthday

Hi everyone! I made this Easel card for my Son-In-Law for his birthday which was this past Tuesday. My Daughter didn't tell me until Sunday about the birthday, and I told her I wouldn't have time to make a card. Anyway, he has been working late every night, which gave me time to come up with something to give him this weekend. The cow( which looks more like a bull to me) was cut from Birthday Bash, and the cupcake was cut from Doodlecharms. I embossed the mat with the cuttlebug folder, Birthday. The sentiment also came from B.B. I did some inking on the sentiment and the top of the cupcake, chalked some of the words on the mat to make them stand out more, and added some unraveled jute to the top of the cows head.Since this was for a man, I didn't add as much bling. I am entering this in the http://www.birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/ Cakes and Cupcakes Blog Hop and in the http://www.whimsicalwednesdays.blogspot.com/ Challenge #16. Thanks for taking a peek!

Dream

Hello everyone! This card was made for a challenge on the Create Blog http://create.northridgepublishing.com/ which was to make a card using gathered ribbon flowers. I added some stick pins behind the flowers, and some "leaves" using a Martha Stewart punch. I'm not sure where the die cut came from, ( if it was a "nesty" or a Cricut cut ), because I got it from Joy several months ago. I added some beaded ribbon, and a butterfly bling, did a little inking and stamped the sentiment. The inside sentiment was computer generated. Thanks for looking!

Just Because

Hello! I just finished this card, and I love the way it turned out! I made this one to enter in the Fantabulous Cricut challenge #70, which was to make a card or project with a melon or other fruit on it. Watermelons and crows are some of my favorites. In fact, that is what my craft room is partially decorated with! The watermelon and the star were cut from Doodlecharms, and I altered the melon just a bit. The crow was cut from Give a Hoot and it was also altered on my Gypsy. I inked up the star to make it look kinda rusty, did a little inking on the melon, and sanded my crow, and there you have it, a quick "primative" card! Thanks for looking!

Happy Wishes

Hello everyone! I hope evryone isn't suffering too bad in this HOT weather! We actually are having a "bit of a cold spell" here in the south, it's only 92 outside today. I made this card for the Birthday Sundaes challenge # 19. You can check out their blog by clicking on the button on the right hand side of my blog. All the cuts were made from Simply Charmed. I did a little inkin' and poppin', and used some bakers twine that my friend Joy gave me to hang the pennants. The sentiment on the dot on the cake was hand stamped and the one on the pennants are some alphabet stickers that I got at Joanns 1/2 off. I embossed the background with Swiss Dots and turned the frosting upside down to make it look more like a frosted border. This was a fun card to make, even if I must have changed my mind about it a dozen times or more! Don't you hate it when you can't make up your mind about a certain element in the design!GRRRRR! Hope you enjoy, and thanks for peeking!

Christmas in July

Hi everyone! I made this card for the Monday Challenge #17 at My Craft Spot( button on the right). From time to time I help my friend Joy "clean" up her craft studio, and I always check her trash can because she throws away some really good stuff sometimes! The card base, with mats already attached, was rescued from her can on one such occasion not long ago. I had it laying on my work table and was going to make a birthday card. In the pile were various other items that I had made and changed my mind about including the crocheted "snowflake", which started out as a flower. Anyway, I gathered them together, with a scrap of sheer ribbon, and a Cloud Nine sticker I purchased I don't know when, and this is the result. Isn't it amazing what you can do with a handful of scraps you thought you would never use?! These salvaged items made a quick card that I think turned out cute! Thanks for peeking!

Anniversary

Hello! This weekend is my parents 55th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to do something a little special for them so I set up a small surprise celebration at their home tomorrow. Things have been stressful for them lately, and I wanted them to have a little "happy" for a change. Anyway I made a cake and this card to give to them. All the cuts are from Sweethearts, and the borders are a recollections punch. Did a little inking and doodlin', added some pops, and the inside sentiment was computer generated. I didn't put the years on the front because there is speculation as to what the number is! My Father seems to think he has been married longer than he actually has, just like every other man on the planet,LOL! Hope you enjoy, and thanks for looking!

Sunflowers

Hello everyone! My friend Joy has been making so many cards with flowers on them lately, that I decided I would try one myself. This card was inspired by a journal that I purchased at Hobby Lobby at the beginning of the summer. The two smaller flowers were cut from Walk in My Garden, and the larger one from Stretch Your Imagination. The grass was a MS punch. I did lots of inking and popping and added glass beads to the centers of the sunflowers to make it look like seeds. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder called Checkerboard. Tied on a tag with some bakers twine and did a little doodlin. I had fun with this one, and I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks for peeking!
