A New Year

Hello everyone!
   
   I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year! Time for fresh starts and hopefully a productive and resourceful year. I wish everyone lots and lots of mo-jo and maybe a few surprises along the way.
   I know I promised birthday cards, but I saw a challenge at http://papercrafterscorner.com/   that I couldn't resist so I made a Valentine instead. Ya'll know I have been cleaning up and cleaning out,  and I ran across these candy heart stickers that I've had for several years, so I decided to use them up rather than throwing them away. This is what I came up with and I am entering it in the Magazine Mondays – Week 82! challenge. I hope you like it! You know it's never to early to get started on your Valentine's cards! Classic

Hello everyone! I'm back to show you a Father's Day card that I made for my Dad. He's getting on up there in the age department(thank God!) so when I saw a version of this card at Paper Craft Connections I knew it would be perfect for him. All the papers, the embossed car(which I fussy cut), and the spinner are from CTMH. I also embossed the mat with a Cuttlebug folder. I hope all of you are ready and not as rushed as I feel for Father's Day. It seems to have snuck up on me between all the doctor, dentist and eye doctor appointments I have had the last couple of weeks. Some times I feel like I don't know whether I'm  "comin' or goin' " as they say here in the South. Anyway, have a happy day and thanks for looking!

Easter

Hello everyone! I can't believe that Easter is almost here! The week went so fast! I finished up my therapy on my shoulder this week and feel like it is pretty much back to normal except for being sore from working it so much. Anyway I thought I would post this card and wish everyone a Happy Easter! Stampin' Up has a stamp with the bird's nest on a limb with eggs in it, so that was my inspiration. I used a Tim Holtz die some basket filler for the nest and some faceted buttons for the eggs. The tips of the branches have  a little bit of green chalk on them although you can't see it in the picture. The background was embossed with two Cuttlebug folders. I also made a "special" box for this card since it is a little on the "fat side". I hope you enjoy and thanks for peeking!

Bushels

Hello everyone! I know I've told you how much I love this time of year, and one of the reasons is apples! Apples for pies and tarts, apples for jam and jellies, and some apples just for eating! My favorite at the moment are the Honey Crisps. Nice and firm with a sweet/tart flavor.... I could eat them all day if they were,not so very expensive!! The inspiration for this card came from one I saw online a couple of years ago. I don't remember who did it, but I think I saw it on the Cricut Board, so thank you whoever you were! The tree, basket, apples and leaves are all cricut cuts. The label is from a punch and the sentiment was hand lettered by me. I used a Cuttlebug folder on the sky and tore my papers for the field. The inside was left blank. I promise the Halloween cards are coming! I need to post them before it gets here, lol! Thanks for peeking, and I hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend!

Rosette Flowers

Hello to my faithful few! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! I was playing around with the flowers again and came up with this card. I think the rosette flowers are so pretty, and I seem to see them everywhere so decided to make some myself. I'm still trying to use up those scraps, and this was the perfect card for that, so some of the papers may look familiar to you! I used a couple of M.S. punches for the rosettes, some leftover kraft for the card, and a Sizzix Framelit for the label. The flowers came from my stash as did the banner. I embossed (debossed) the mat, stamped my sentiment and called it done! My Son's Birthday

Hey everyone! I hope your having a wonderful weekend with this crazy weather! It is in the 70's here in Alabama, and raining on again off again. I'm just about tired of it!! This is the card I made for my Son whose birthday is on the 10th. I opted for an easel card instead of trying to do a shaped one of the cake. I embossed the cake and added candles everywhere with the big 30 on the top! My "baby" is no longer a baby! Any whoo, I used stickles for the flames on the candles,glittered up the background, did a little inkin', used bakers twine for the streamers at the top, and sprayed the whole thing with glimmer. This is birthday card #4 for anyone who's counting. I forgot to take pics of the first two, LOL! Thanks for looking!

First Valentine

Hey Ya'll! Just thought I would post my first Valentine of the year! I know, I'm supposed to be making Birthday cards, but this was a happy accident that could have gone either way. I was playing with my new punches and dies and ran across some pre-made cards that I purchased a while back at Walmart, and everything just kinda got thrown together and this is the result! I have really been trying to use up some of my scrap paper lately so here is another turquoise that I 'married with yellow this time. The bird and the flowers are from my new punch and die. I added perfect pearls to the flowers, embossed the background with the cuttlebug, and added some bakers twine and some vintage buttons from my stash. Thanks for looking and thanks for all your comments. I love hearing from you!

Winter

Hello all! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I had so many ideas for cards for Christmas, but now that it has come and gone I decided to focus on Winter cards. This is the first one, and although it looks more blue in the picture, it is really a pale turquoise color. I used a Cuttlebug folder for the mat then added some Sizzix die cut snowflakes that I cut from specialty paper. I also used some glitter paper for the white snowflakes, and a punch for the small one. I added a bow made with vintage seam binding that my friend Joy gave me (thanks Joy),some bling for the centers of the snowflakes, and made a stickpin from some beads bought at the flea market for $1.00 and cut apart. I also added some glitter glue to some of the background, though you can't see it very well. There you have it, my tribute to Winter! Living in the South we don't see snow too often, and I really miss it sometimes,LOL! Thanks for looking and listening to my rambling!

Thankful

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween, and have not gained too many pounds from all the candy! Time to relax now and concentrate on this beautiful Fall weather we are having here in Alabama! I know some of you have experienced a freakish and early snowfall, and I hope you are all well and warm. This card was inspired by a stamp set that I purchased from Close To My Heart called Remarkable Wreath. It has different seasons in it so you will probally be seeing it again. I already have an idea for Christmas! Anyway, I decided to hang it on the door this time. I stamped the twigs and then the leaves, and tried to give it a watercolor feel. Then I fussy cut it and, popped it and hung it. Added a bow and shimmered up the windows with some perfect pearls. You can't see the pearls very well. For some reason they just don't photograph well. I left the inside of the card blank so that I could add a sentiment at a later time. Thank you all so much for your comments on my cards! I look foward to hearing from you always! Thanks for looking!

EEEK!

Hello evryone! Whew, I've been so busy lately the time has slipped up on me! Just a quick post for a quick card.I really just let the paper work for me on this one. I glitter glued the spiders and the web border. Added some glitter to the web strands on the paper, and finished it off with some alphabet stickers. It was really quick, but a fun card to make. Hi everyone! Today I made this card that has been sitting on my table for a week! All I had to do was put it together and was too lazy to get up and do it,but I made myself finish it this morning. I'm so glad I did, because it turned out better than I invisioned it... a year ago! The grass is torn Mulberry paper that I bought at the Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. Of course I didn't have the Holiday Cakes cart then, and I love this "spooky" house! I added some bling to the roof line, cut the small fence off the side and added a larger one, some cute little pumpkins, and I think the occupants are ready for Trick or Treaters if they

Autumn leaves

Hello again! Two posts in one day,whew, I'm on a roll! This card was inspired by my absolutely favorite season of the year! I love Fall! I wish for it to hurry and get here every year, and here in the South it usually arrives in late October or early November. This year it seems to have come early(here's hoping) because we have had our temps in the 80's for a couple of weeks now. Anyway, I love just the feel in the air, the crunch of leaves under my feet, etc. The tree was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up, and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch that I cut the individual leaves from. The frame is a Cuttlebug die called Pearl Frame, and the sentiment was hand printed on the outside and computer generated on the inside. I added a twine and raffia bow and sprayed it with glimmer. This card will be entered in the Monday Challenge #26 at My Craft Spot. Thanks for peeking!

Bee-lated Birthday

Hi everyone! I made this card for my Aunt for her birthday, which I forgot. Both of my parents, my son, and my Grandson's birthdays are all in the same month, including my Aunt's, and her's kind of slipped through the cracks! I used the cute little Sizzix bee, and added vellum for his wings, and a glitter brad for his nose. I embossed the mat with a cuttlebug folder called Gratitude, and used a Martha Stewart punch for the border. Added a twill ribbon bow, stamped the sentiment, and put a flower in the corner. Ice Cream Cone Birthday

Here's a cute little card I made for my Grandson's birthday. I used Stretch Your Imagination and welded the cone together on my Gypsy. I used the cuttlebug folder Divine swirl for the outside ice cream, and some patterned paper for the waffle cone. My grandson's favorite desert is ice cream, so when I gave him the card he got a gift card for Bruster ice cream. On the inside I used a snow writer to give the ice cream more demension, and added Glossy Accents to the top of the fudge. It looks good enough to eat! Liberty Flag

Hey Ya'll! This card was made for the Fourth of July. I used Independence Day for the word Freedom, Stand and Salute for the fireworks and the word Liberty, and a cuttlebug die and embossing folder called Pearl for the frame. The flag on the front was cut from a Paper Studio paper called "Vintage Flags". I tore it out, wet it and shaped it, then inked the edges and used a piece of rolled up tissue paper underneath it to help

keep it's shape. I added a piece of ephemera that I copied on the computer, and wet it and distressed it as well. The whole card was then sprayed with glimmer, and I used glitter glue for the stars on the flag and the dots around the frame. Thanks for looking!

Mothers Day Folded Flower

Hello! This card I made for my Grandson to give to his Mother. I saw this folded flower in a Cards Magazine and had to try it. So simple and easy to do, and I think it turned out very pretty. I cuttlebugged the background with Gratitude, cut a label with my nesties, and added some bling and a ribbon. Thanks for looking and I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter!
