Holly Jolly

Hello everyone! Please forgive the look of my blog. It is temporarily under construction. The card I have for you today was made using the Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges. I used some old tags from my stash for the stars. The gingerbread man and the sentiments outside and in are from Stampin' Up. My Dad is back in the hospital so I will make this short and sweet. We will most likely be spending another Christmas there with him. This will be my last post for the year and I thank each and every one of you for sticking with me this long. As always "Thanks for peeking!" I just wanted to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Rudolph

Hello dear readers! So sorry I haven't been here to share lately. My Dad was in the hospital again  and is now in re-hab and we are trying to get him ready to go home before Christmas. I'm so glad he will not be spending another Christmas in the re-hab center! The card I have today was inspired by a Stampin' Up demonstrator a couple of years ago. I used a few punches and some scrap Cricut cuts to assemble him, then added the string beads around him for a little bling. I can't believe that Christmas is almost here! In between  visiting my Dad, I still managed to put the tree up and do a little shopping . Now all I need to do is wrap presents and get some baking done before Christmas Eve! I will try to visit again before then, but I'm not making any promises! Thanks for looking. I love hearing from you!

Supplies- EK Success: Punches "Stocking" for the head and Snowflake" for the boarder inside. Cricut: Scrap tree limbs for his antlers. Studio G: snowflakes and flower bling, Paper Studio: Paper "Heart Warming Holiday", CTMH: Red Shimmer Trim.

Glittered Snow

Hi everyone! I'm back to show you a quick card I made with some Sizzix framelits and stamps. The snow is torn and then glittered on the edge. I also added a bit of glitter to the snowman and snowflakes. No snow here, just wishful thinking. It is almost 80 degrees here today, but is suppose to turn colder this weekend. Problem is we get rain instead of snow and I'm just a little tired of it now. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies- Snowman and snowflake stamps: Sizzix for "Hero Arts", Sentiments: CTMH, "Merry and Bright" and "Card Chatter-Christmas"

Snowflakes

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. I sure did. Even having to cook and clean was not too bad this time around. My son gifted me with many items for a be-lated Mother's Day and an early Christmas! He has returned to Missouri and will not return for another year :( He said it will be in the 20's there with possible flurries by the weekend. Seeing as how it is in the low 70's here today, these two cards will probably be the only snow I will see this year! Both of the cards are exactly alike except for the color and the ribbon. One is traditional and one is non-traditional in color. I never really liked blues and silver for Christmas until this year, and now I can't get enough of  them! Which do you prefer?

Supplies- Stampin' Up: Very Vanilla seam binding, "Northern Flurry" snowflake die, "Be of Good Cheer" designer paper, Silver glitter paper. Close To My Heart: Silver glitter paper. My Mind Eye: "Wonderful Winter" glittered paper, gathered ribbon and bling from my stash.

Hello everyone!  This card will be my last card to share until after Thanksgiving, and I thought it would be the most appropriate. I am thankful for many things this year.... I'm thankful for my health, and for all my
family and friends far and wide who have helped and supported me in this paper journey! I am thankful for all of you, your thoughts and prayers in times of need, and all your encouragement these past years. I am so very blessed! Have a wonderful, beautiful Thanksgiving , and I will see you soon!

Hoo's Happy!

Hey Ya'll!  I have seen this card plastered all over Pinterest in every shape, form, and fashion. He is so cute I just had to make one of my own. This particular version I saw at scrapbooksetc.com, but I changed him up a bit. I first changed his wings and made them moveable, so that they can be folded up to fit in an envelope. I also made the whole card into an owl instead of a feature on the card. He was fun to make, and my Mother( who collects owl's) had fun making him "fly" when I showed it to her. I supposed I will have to send the card to her for Fall!

Thanks for looking and have a "Happy Fall Ya'll"!

Harvesting

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather! In my neck of the woods, we really only have two very distinct seasons Hot and Chilly. Every once in a while the Chilly season will become very cold(with snow!!) and the Hot season will grace us with a bit of Spring and Fall. This year we are having some beautiful Fall weather and I am enjoying every minute of it! My card today is a CAS one using some new and not so new embellishments from my stash. The simple sentiment reminds me to step back and enjoy the gifts of the season this year. I hope that you all are doing the same! Thanks for peeking!

Fall

Hello everyone! Here's another quick card for you using the Stamp of the Month for September. I decided to do another chalkboard only this time with brown and white. I distressed the edges to give it a rustic look and used buttons and hemp, and rubbed some Distress Glitter over the two words "gratitude" and "Blessed". The inside sentiment simply says "Fall into Autumn". Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking!

Supplies- Plaid paper: Authentique "Pioneer Plaid", Stamp: CTMH "Poster Tidings" SOTM for Sept., Natural Hemp: CTMH, Buttons from stash, Distressed Glitter: Ranger.

Sunshine

Hello all! Today I have a quick share for you. I had this small piece of Glimmer card sitting on my table since Spring, so I decided to make a little note card with it for Fall. I thought the turquoise and the oranges and browns of the paper went together well, and I just happened to have a sunflower charm left over from a previous Work Shop on the Go by CTMH that matched perfectly. Love it when everything just falls into place, don't you?! The card dimensions are 41/4 x 41/4 so I also made an envelope to match out of some kraft. Have a beautiful day and thanks for peeking!

Supplies- CTMH: "Harvest Charms" WOTG: Dreamin', Glitter paper in Dark Brown, Sentiment: "Lots of Love", a new stamp set found in the Holiday Mini. Spellbinders: Shapeabilities label "Grommet Tags"

Show Your Colors

Hey Ya'll!  Just poppin' in to show you some cards that I made a few weeks ago at a playdate with Shirley, my upline with CTMH. She brought all kinds of shapes and colors for the two most recognized football teams here in Alabama and we just used our imagination and came up with some birthday cards. The first one I made for my hubby. He's an Alabama fan and his birthday is on Halloween. This is the off year for me to make his non- Halloween card. I used three different stamp sets and several different rectangles and just played around with them till I got it the way I liked it. The second most recognized team here is Auburn which my Father used to be a Professor at, so this one is for his birthday. I finished it up at home by making a small pom pom and adding the typewriter letters at the bottom. I must admit that I prefer the orange and blue to the crimson and grey myself, but I route for them both unless they are playing each other. Oh, I did add some white stitching with my gel pen to the sentiment on the Auburn card after the picture was taken. I just decided it needed something extra. It looked too plain.  Show Your Colors!! Thanks for looking!

Supplies- CTMH: All cardstock, Shimmer Trim in silver and black, Tiny Type Epoxy Alphabet, Stamps: "You Are My Happy", "A Little Gift", "Perfect Fit Birthday", Pom pom made with Paper Ribbon from World Market.

Autumn Blessings

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. We are finally experiencing a touch of Fall her, and I couldn't be more happy! I love the Fall season!  This is my first official card of the season! I was still playing with the core'dinations cardstock and  found some that was already embossed by jillibean soup (the red leaf in the center). The background was done with the Black Magic collection with a pale orange core. I used some jute from my stash along with some small pieces of corrugated cardboard that where laying on my table. I wish where ever you are that you are enjoying this wonderful Fall weather, and thanks for looking!

Supplies- Leaves: Tim Holtz Alterations die "Tattered Leaves", Stamp: S.U. "Take Care" Label: S.U. "modern Label(trimmed), Embossing folder: Paper Studio "Leaves".

BOO!

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing my last Halloween card with you. I've moved on to some Fall cards, and Hubby's b'day is on Halloween so I needed to start planning for that as well. This one was easy to make and I like the way it turned out. I used two of the new stamps from CTMH plus an old one from last year. I added some Distress Stickles, some punched webs and bats, and some bling and tulle from my stash and Wah-Lah, done in a flash! Hope you like, and I'll be back next week to share one of those Fall cards with you. Thanks for peeking!
Supplies- CTMH: Stamps "Backdrop-Charmed"(old), "Perfect Fit-Halloween" and "Eek and Shriek"(new), Punches: Martha Stewart "Web Lace?" (cut in half) and "Bat".

Shadows

Hey all!  Here's another card using core'dinations paper where the core is yellow. I used a paper studio folder and just slightly sanded it down. Everything, except for the moon and the "grass", is made from a Tim Holtz strip die. I needed something behind the trick or treaters and my daughter suggested the green. I'm still not real sure about the green though. Maybe it's the polka dots, I don't know! Tell me what you think?! I love to read your comments. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies-  core'dinations :"Black Magic" paper, Paper Studio: Embossing folder "Mesh Texture", Tim Holtz Alterations strip die " Halloween Shadows", Inside sentiment: CTMH " Eek and Shriek", and the bats are from the strip die.

Owloween

Hey everyone! This card was made on the spur of the moment at a playdate a couple of weeks ago It is CAS, quick and easy. My friend Gale had this stamp set and I fell in love with the cute little owl. Some CTMH papers, a border punch and some bakers twine finished it off. Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful fall weather! It is in the upper 70's to low 80's here this past week and mostly blue skies. Love it!!  Enjoy the card and I hope you are being crafty for Halloween! Thanks for looking!

Don't Croak

Hello everyone!
So sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, but I've been busy making cards for birthdays and thank you's and Halloween and Harvest! Then about a week ago my Dad ended up in the hospital for a very brief visit, and this week Hubby and I have been getting ready for some out of town relatives! So, looking at the calendar I decided I needed to share the Halloween cards first since it is just right around the corner. I got on a kick using core'dinaions papers, embossing them, and sanding them to use as my background. This one had a green core which morphed into frogs and little green spiders. Then I wanted to use a stamp set that I purchased last year ,and that led to the jar full of pickled toad (which every good witch knows is a staple on the pantry shelf), hehe! Anyway, I hope you enjoy and thanks for peeking!

Supplies-  Pickled toad stamp: CTMH "Magic Potions", Front frog and inside sentiment: Cricut "Mini Monsters", Inside frog: Cricut "Four Legged Friends", Toad jar: S.U. Framelits " Cannery Set", Embossing folder: Paper Studio "Spider Webs", Spiders: Studio G punch.

She Believed

Hey Ya'll! I hope you are enjoying the Fall weather where ever you are. The temps have been lower here and I feel a touch of Fall in the air! Love it! My Favorite season! Today I have a card for you  for encouragement. I made this card with a cast on my hand, and thought the sentiment was perfect! This also has turned out to be my "end of Summer" card. I used several items that I had purchased and never used, like the stamp and dies. Sorry if this picture looks a little fuzzy, lol. I also took the pic with the cast on my hand. I hope you enjoy and have a crafty weekend! Thanks for looking!

Fishy Wishes

Hello everyone! Today I have a quick card for you using bits and pieces of leftovers from my table. I stamped the fish and weeds at a Hostess Club with Stampin" Up a few months back. I used a piece of bakers twine that was laying around and some netting from a "candy coins" bag at Christmas that I had saved. It all came together pretty quick once I decided to make it into a birthday card. Thanks for peeking!

Supplies- Stampin' Up: "By the Tide" stamp set, cardstock and seam binding. McGill : Label punch, sentiment on label: hand lettered. CTMH: Epoxy Bubbles

Jeanette's Archive

Hey Ya'll! Good news! I no longer have a cast on my hand, Yay!!  I went back to the doctor last week and he removed the cast and gave me a removable splint to wear. I only wear it when I am doing any heavy lifting and such as that. I am now able to make cards without too much trouble, and cook , and clean, and... My Hubby is ecstatic! He has hung in there for too long, and I am so grateful for it!
I have a card for you today that I played around with a bit. I intentionally double stamped and off set the image to produce a calligraphy look with negative space. Does that make sense? This is a new stamp from CTMH that came out of Jeanette's archives( the Founder and CEO of Close To My Heart). I also punched some small flowers and used some Vintage stationary as my background mat. Found it in the drawer when I was rummaging around looking for something. I decided I would use it on a card because who really sends handwritten letters anymore? I know I haven't for years, obviously! Just thought I would share and let you know that I'm back in business for the time being! Thanks for looking!

Supplies- Vintage stationary and seam binding for the bow from my stash, Outside sentiment: CTMH "Flowering Thanks" Jeanette's Archives, Small flowers: EKSuccess punch "Mini Flowers", Inside sentiment: Studio G, Border punch: Martha Stewart "Leafy Vine".

Masking

Hello everyone! This month at training day with Close To My Heart we worked on the masking technique. I have seen so many cards in blog land with this technique, and have been wanting to try it. Oh course, it was a little challenging with a cast on my hand, but I got the job done and I think the finished cards turned out pretty well. I did all the masking and inking at our training session and finished them up at home. On the first one I knew exactly the stamp I wanted to use once I got the background done. I did have to cover up a boo, boo on this one. Can you see it? The second one took me a little longer to complete because I couldn't make up my mind on the layout, and then I couldn't decide which stamps to use and etc., etc., etc. When all was said and done, I went with my first original idea! Anyhoo, I had fun with this technique and I hope you enjoy! Thanks for peeking!

Supplies- First card: CTMH- Stamp "A True Thank You", All cardstock and ink, Shimmer Trim silver and black. Studio 112: Tree stamp, Bling from stash.
Second card: CTMH- "Moonlight" WOTG, paper, lamp post, spider and inside sentiment, Martha Stewart: Stamp "Elegant Witch", Bats and cauldron. EK Success: Bats border punch on inside frame.

The good and the bad!

Hey ya'll! Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I won the Magazine Monday's week 16 challenge from my last post! On top of that, I also won a giveaway from Papercrafter's corner of some of the new Tim Holtz product!!!! Yay!!! I'm so excited! I can't wait for my package to arrive! Whew! Now I will calm down enough to give you the bad news.
A couple of weeks ago I went to the orthopedic to see about my neck. He told me that there is a lot of arthritis in there and degeneration of the spine. To make a long story short, I can either have a nerve block done or have surgery to correct it, or continue to see the "chiroprackter doctor"( as my husband calls him) if it was helping me, which it is not! So nerve block it is! The other bad news is I had a small accident the weekend before I saw him, and I ended up 2 days later and a "doc in the box" visit with a hyper extension of my right thumb! Now I have a splint(cast) on my right dominant hand, and will most likely have to get another one for at least 2 more weeks! The ligament is torn away from the bone, and although it doesn't hurt anymore, I have not been able to make very many cards! I do have these two cards to show you that I made a couple of days prior to the thumb accident. They are short and sweet, clean and simple. I'm really getting into the "clean and simple" look lately! Not sure why. Ummmm. Halloween and Christmas card making are about to commence, so look out! Oh! I have figured out how to fussy cut with a cast on my hand! You just never know about small blessings!
If you are still reading this, bless you! I have decided to give the cat card to my uncle who is turning 80 this Wednesday! I think he will get a kick out of it. Thanks for listening to me ramble and have a great weekend!

Be Strong

Hello everyone! I have a card for you today that was inspired by the Magazine Mondays challenge over at http://papercrafterscorner.com/.  I had already started this card when I saw the post for week 16, so I thought I would play along. I used Coredinations Black Magic for my card base with an embossing folder frame and it just kind of went from there. The saying was stamped on a piece of Chalkstock ATC with white chalk pigment ink. Turned out pretty good for a first try, don't you think?! I hope everyone has beautiful weekend! I'm looking forward to some much needed fun in the sun here this weekend. It has rained every day for a solid month! Although the rain is needed, I am sick to death of it now! Have a happy weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies- Sentiment: Stampabilities "Be Strong", Striped mat: Scenic Route "Cape Town", Embossing folder: Paper Studio "Doodle Frame", Coredinations: Color Core "Black Magic".

Lemons

Hello everyone! I am still having some neck issues so I haven't been creating much, but I wanted to show you this card that was sort of a happy accident. I have been purging some of my stash lately and came across this stamp that I had never used. I think I bought it with the intensions of using it for fireworks. I got to playing around with it and came up with the background using only a portion of the stamp(middle) and different colors. The first one I didn't like so I did a second one and used it for this card. In this context it looks more like flowers to me, so I decided to keep this stamp in my stash! The jar is a Sizzix die and embossing folder set. I cut the jar in white then cut two more in vellum and acetate and embossed the top two layers. I used my Gelly Roll pens to color on the acetate. I hope everyone is having a glorious weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Twisted

Hey Ya'll! Whew! I am so sorry for taking this long to get back to you! This week has been so hectic for me...Doctor's, dentist's, MRI's, my usual trip to Mom's once a week..... I haven't had time to catch my breath much less make a card! I have been having some neck problems and it hasn't been easy to sit at my table for a long period of time without pain, so I'm sharing a card that I made last month at a  Training Day session with Shirley Ross of Close To My Heart. She taught us how to make a Twisted Easel card with a window! I had never made one of these before and the window in it was a plus! We used tracing paper and Alcohol Ink markers from CTMH  to make our "window". Sit a battery operated tea light behind it and it glows. Added a seam binding bow with bakers twine and a wooden tag I had in my stash and Walla! Hope you enjoy looking, and maybe I can share a new creation with you in a couple of days! Till then...

Happiness

Hello all! Just poppin' in to share this last patriotic card with you. This one reminds me of my childhood years and celebrating on the 4th.  Oh to be a child again... riding your bike through the neighborhood with streamers flying in the wind, or playing cards attached to the spokes making the rat-a-tat-tat noise as you zipped by. Lol, I truly miss those days when you felt so free and did not have to worry about anything in the world as long as you where home before dark! I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July, and I'll be back next week to share. Thanks for peeking!

Supplies- Bicycle: Cricut cartridge "Independence Day", Card and words: "Stand and Salute", Card base: Basic Gray Dot embossed, Dimensions: 5x5.

Freedom

Hey Ya'll!  I just received a new stamp set from CTMH on Wednesday and couldn't wait to use it! Part of the proceeds from the sale of this stamp set goes to the USO. It has several images and sentiments in the set, and I chose the Statue of Liberty. My Grandson looked it up to see what it was made of and it is a metal alloy with copper. It said that the blue/green tint that it has comes from the water, so I tried to mimic that and mixed up three different colors of embossing powder to get the color. You can't quite see the blue/green too much in the photo, so if I do this again I will have to add more blue and green to the mix. I used Perfect Pearls to fill it in. I'll be back in a few days with another patriotic card that is in the works right now. Have a beautiful day where ever you are and thanks for looking!

Supplies- Statue of Liberty, stars and sentiments: CTMH "Home of the Brave" constant campaign, Background paper: K & Co. "Americana", Perfect Pearls copper, Glitter ribbon: from my stash

Patriotic

Hey everyone! I have a 4th of July card for you today. I went to visit a friend the other day and we were playing around with a stamp set and a die that I had never used and this is the result. I stamped the fireworks for the background and used glitter paint for the sparkle. I cut the flag in red then cut the small blue square and used my gell pen to draw on some stars. Then I backed the whole thing with a piece of  white and distressed it a little with some ink. Please ignore the dark spot at the bottom of the inside. It's just my stamp on the back shining through :). Thanks for looking!

Supplies- Flag: Tim Holtz Alterations die "Old Glory", Fire works, stars, and sentiment: Close To My Heart stamp set "American Celebration", Inside sentiment: Hampton Art, Glitter: Scribbles 3-D paint "Sparkle".

Quilled Garden

Hello everyone! It is such a beautiful day here, sun shining, not too hot, nice breeze blowing, it reminded me of this card that I never shared with you.  Recently  my friends Gale and Sarah have been quilling snowflakes( which I showed them how to do) and now they are hooked! I myself had forgotten how addictive Quilling is and how much I enjoyed doing it. So anyway, we decided to do some flowers to go on a card and this is the result of my morning of the playdate a couple of weeks ago. I also added some "clouds" using a technique I found on a Stampin' Up blog. I'm sorry I don't remember which one , but I have it posted on my Card Technique board on  http://pinterest.com/chasnpaper/boards/. This was a first try for this technique, and I think it turned pretty good. We also made a cute little grasshopper and the fence was cut from a die. Thanks for looking and Happy First Day Of Summer tomorrow!

Classic

Hello everyone! I'm back to show you a Father's Day card that I made for my Dad. He's getting on up there in the age department(thank God!) so when I saw a version of this card at Paper Craft Connections I knew it would be perfect for him. All the papers, the embossed car(which I fussy cut), and the spinner are from CTMH. I also embossed the mat with a Cuttlebug folder. I hope all of you are ready and not as rushed as I feel for Father's Day. It seems to have snuck up on me between all the doctor, dentist and eye doctor appointments I have had the last couple of weeks. Some times I feel like I don't know whether I'm  "comin' or goin' " as they say here in the South. Anyway, have a happy day and thanks for looking!

Brag book

Hey Ya'll! Just a quick share today to show you  a brag book my upline Shirley Ross showed me how to make using Flip Flaps which can be purchased from Close To My Heart. The white frame are leftover pieces from another project using the Artiste Cartridge (innies), and the small vellum flowers were made with a punch I recently purchased. This came together pretty quickly, but now I have to buy some more Flip Flaps to finish off the book! It's always somethin' isn't it? Just another excuse to purchase more "STUFF"!! Anyway I hope you enjoy, and thanks for peeking!

Water color paper

Hello everyone! I'm back to share this card with you where I used a piece of beautiful water colored paper found in my stash! I really let the paper work for me, and didn't do much to the front but add some stamping and embellishments. On the inside I did a pop-up flower which I got the directions for from marthastewart.com/crafts. This was the second flower that I did. It took two try's to really get it right! Any way, after I got the flower put together it was really a quick card to finish up. This card was very hard to photograph since I didn't have anyone to help hold the card, so forgive me if the pictures are not the best quality! Hope you enjoy, and have a crafty weekend!
