Mildred's Birthday

Hello everyone! Mildred, who is a co-worker of mine from many years ago, is celebrating her 75th birthday this week. I made this card to give to her at her "surprise " party. I used Birthday Bash for all the cuts, and welded it together on the Gypsy. I flocked the mouse and used Glossy Accents on his nose and eyes. Added a crinkle ribbon bow, which you can purchase at My Craft Spot(click on the button on the right), a tiny button with some Memory Thread, and some Distress Stickles.It was a quick, fun card to make and I get a chuckle every time I look at it. Happy Fourth of July

Hi Ya'll! Just wanted to wish everyone Happy 4th of July, and to share this card with you. The inspiration for this card came from an old t-shirt that I have that I wear every year to our blowout on the Alabama River.Alot of us get together with our boats and park at a sandbar and celebrate the 4th. Everyone brings a different dish, and we pig out, and swim, and just have a good time. Sometimes we all ride downriver to watch the annual fireworks show from the water. Anyway, I decided to make this card before the ole' t-shirt gives it up. I used Country Life for the posts, Sweethearts for the towel, Life's A Beach for the bikini and trunks, and an MS punch for the grass. The embossing was done with a Sizzix texture plate, and I added some bakers twine for the clothesline. The inside says "Proud to be an American". Big Wish

Hello everyone! I wanted to make this card for the Birthday Sundaes challenge #15, Stars and Stripes, and I have always loved the little bird on the Four Legged Friends cart. So, I thought, "you're a bird, it's your birthday, what would you wish for?" For the cat to be in the cage, of course!! I used Four Legged Friends for all the cuts except the star, which came from Don Juan. The cage was cut out of grunge paper, painted with Distress Crackle Paint, then inked with Ditress Ink to give a "wicker" feel. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the background paper is adhesive backed fabric paper that I bought at Michaels half off. Added some vintage seam binding that Joy gave me for a bow, and topped it off with a vintage button from my stash. I am also entering this in the Monday challenge at My Craft Spot. What do you think?

Americana

Many years ago, I made a cloth flag out of muslin in which I used buttons for the white stripes. I thought I would do the same thing only using paper, ribbons and buttons. This is what I came up with, and I think it turned out pretty well. I used Stand and Salute for the flag and inside sentiment which says "United We Stand". Found some glittery ribbon leftover from Christmas, and used some of the buttons I found at a flea market not long ago. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the outside sentiment, and welded it on the Gypsy. Added some shimmer and a lttle bit of glitter to the stars and called it done. This is my tribute to "Old Glory" and all that She represents. It makes for a pretty hefty card if you were to mail it, so I think it will just hang out in my craft room on the shelf for me to look at! Thanks for looking!

Ice Cream Cone Birthday

Here's a cute little card I made for my Grandson's birthday. I used Stretch Your Imagination and welded the cone together on my Gypsy. I used the cuttlebug folder Divine swirl for the outside ice cream, and some patterned paper for the waffle cone. My grandson's favorite desert is ice cream, so when I gave him the card he got a gift card for Bruster ice cream. On the inside I used a snow writer to give the ice cream more demension, and added Glossy Accents to the top of the fudge. It looks good enough to eat! Liberty Flag

Hey Ya'll! This card was made for the Fourth of July. I used Independence Day for the word Freedom, Stand and Salute for the fireworks and the word Liberty, and a cuttlebug die and embossing folder called Pearl for the frame. The flag on the front was cut from a Paper Studio paper called "Vintage Flags". I tore it out, wet it and shaped it, then inked the edges and used a piece of rolled up tissue paper underneath it to help

keep it's shape. I added a piece of ephemera that I copied on the computer, and wet it and distressed it as well. The whole card was then sprayed with glimmer, and I used glitter glue for the stars on the flag and the dots around the frame. Thanks for looking!

Husband's Father's Day

Hi everyone! This is my last Father's Day card, and in the nick of time! This one is for my husband. We own a boat that we take to the river on the weekends. I made the payments on it until I quit working, so I always told him that it was my boat. Anyway, long story short, he always drives the boat even though I know how, because I never got a boat license. He float's my boat! I welded the boat shape on my Gypsy, and used the Father's Day cart again. Even though I thought this would be the easiest one to do, it turned out to be the hardest. I added some pieces of plastic packaging to the windows(I don't think you can tell from the picture), and added the wave at the bottom, which came from Everyday Paper Dolls. Added the emblem, and handcut a little towel. The sentiment on the inside was cut from Just Because Cards, and the anchor from Stand and Salute.
